Short Paper: Queryable Provenance Metadata For GDPR Compliance

Information associated with regulatory compliance is often siloed as legal documentation that is not suitable for querying or reuse. Utilising open standards and technologies to represent and query this information can facilitate interoperability between stakeholders and assist in the task of maintaining as well as demonstrating compliance. In this paper, we show how semantic web technologies can assist in representation and querying of compliance information related to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), an European law governing the use of consent and personal data.

Lessons learnt from using vacancy mining for validating and supplementing labour market taxonomies

Keeping taxonomies up to date is a labour-intensive and hence expensive endeavour. An obvious approach to save costs is to automate at least some of the manual tasks involved in maintenance. Vacancy text provides good insight into the language employers and HR professions currently use when describing job openings. Thus we considered it to be a promising approach to automatically collect and process this data and then compare it to the current vocabulary of labour market taxonomies, thus identifying amendment needs.

Publishing Ordnance Survey Ireland’s geospatial data as Linked Data

Data.geohive.ie aims to provide an authoritative service for serving Ireland’s national geospatial data as Linked Data. The service currently provides information on Irish administrative boundaries and the boundaries used for the Irish 2011 and 2016 census. The service is designed to support two use cases: serving boundary data of geographic features at various level of detail and capturing the evolution of administrative boundaries.
